Why should I have my air conditioner tuned up?

I get this question posed to me from time to time by homeowners and business operators. The simple answer is: because it needs it! All kidding aside, having your a/c system tuned up is  very important to keeping your system running efficiently and safely.

The number one cause of  breakdowns on heating and air conditioning equipment is dirt. Most outdoor condensers and heat pumps are exposed to the elements all year long. They can become clogged with dirt, dinged by hail or lawnmowers, or even damaged by your pets. The best way to keep your system running at a high level is to have a qualified air conditioning contractor perform a precision tune up on your system.

At 1st Environmental Service we train all of our employees on the importance of annual maintenance so that we can properly take care of our number one asset: you the customer. A properly performed tune up includes cleaning of coils where dirt gathers, inspection of electrical components, measuring of freon charge, and many other vital tasks. This alone can improve the efficiency of your system by as much as 15%. Most companies offer a service agreement that includes two tune ups a year ( one in the fall and one in the spring). Our agreement members qualify for 24 hour service, cut in line placement on emergency calls, and 15% discounts on repairs.

So take care of the one thing that makes the hot summer months in Texas bearable and have your ac tuned up today.
